Loving this MINI Trend!

My all-time favorite designer has jumped on the bandwagon now…  MINI quilts by Fig Tree!

Last month I took the Canned Pears pattern by Fig Tree and did my own math and graph paper exercise to scale down the pear blocks to make a new window valance for my kitchen (click here for that post)…  If I had JUST WAITED a few more weeks, I would have saved so much time, because Joanna and the Fig Tree team have just released four new mini patterns!

The Fig Tree blog has a post about it this week, and you can click HERE to jump over and read it with all the eye candy pictures.  You can also buy the PDF download of each one individually, or do what I did and get the 4 PACK!  Click here for a link to that item on their shop site.

I particularly fell for this version of the mini Blossom quilt in the red/white colorway:

So, even though I have other projects ahead of any mini quilts … for example, I’m still just sitting at 2 out of 66 blocks to finish my GGS quilt:

I couldn’t stop myself from raiding my mini charm packs and coming up with the start of a mini quilt of my own.

I’m going with Chateau Rouge by French General mini charms and a background in the Rounneires Deux group.

And jumping ahead to the end of the first completed block, unfinished at 8 1/2″ square.  See how it compares to the 2 1/2″ square piece next to it:

Loving it!

Are you getting on board yet?  How many minis have you made?

Patiently waiting on my table as well, a Monthly Stitch Club by Shabby Fabrics and the latest two blocks of the FQS Designer Mystery BOM… can’t wait for the weekend to begin!!

next up

Have a wonderful Friday!

Thanks for stopping by as always!

Jennifer
