Welcome to my second official post. I’m excited to show off Nora’s ‘baby’ quilt before adding on the small inner border and the larger pieced border to finish it up. Nora is about to turn 4, but she was not neglected… Nana made her a quilt before she was born – I’m just taking a little longer getting it done. But she loves seeing me work on it, especially if it involves pink fabric! This quilt was a ‘block of the month’ program from Fat Quarter Shop (www.fatquartershop.com) that ran from May 2011 to April 2012. I follow a blog by Sinta at Pink Pincushion (see http://www.pinkpincushion.blogspot.com/). Each week, you can submit your progress on those languishing BOM projects or new ones. Keeps us motivated!

Nora’s Quilt before final borders – Designer Mystery BOM 2011 with Strawberry Fields fabric from Fig Tree Quilts, hosted by Fat Quarter Shop.
I’m also participating in Pam Buda’s sew-a-long for a kind of mystery reveal quilt called Forget Me Not. I’m using a collection of her new fabric line and she publishes two block patterns each Friday for her followers to complete for a total of 16 blocks. They finish at 4.5″ square. This is my first time working with reproduction/civil war type prints. You can see more about Pam Buda and join in on the project as well.
